On top of the world, at least in this coastal area, high above the evergreen groves of Lovran, stands firmly three hundred years old stone house, surrounded by trees, cherries and chestnuts, on the ancient mountain road that connects the Liburnian coast with Učka heights. Arriving in Ivulići, a hamlet in Liganj, we find the keepers of the house - in this case, these are not dogs, but cats, who spend their days in the shade of stone walls and hiding behind centuries old draw well. Each visitor will immediately stay stunned because of the view that stretches from the rustic porch: it covers the entire Kvarner islands of Krk, Cres, Rijeka and peaks of Gorski Kotar. It is therefore not surprising that many hikers and climbers often stop and rest at Ivulić. A glass of wine suits so well here. It is served from the cellar of Damir Kršanac, hospitable home owner, who tells us about a family's history on this household bounded by mountain forests, near Nature Park „Učka“ . In addition, guests enjoy the fruits of his garden.
The house is divided into two parts, for a total of six people, with three extra beds. It is an ideal place for a family vacation. Each room is originally decorated with restored furniture. In the northern wing, on the ground floor is a small tavern, with a kitchen, fireplace and wooden tables, tastefully decorated for pleasant moments.
Surrounding area offers many opportunities for sports and recreation, such as walking and climbing through the woods, mountain biking, sailing, scuba diving, horse riding and rock climbing.
Although approaching Ivulići in winter is only achieved by sled and plows because of the high slope, climbing up is extremely rewarding, both because of Kvarner views and connectivity of nature and man.
