Gastronomy Walks in Malinska

Embark on a delectable journey with Malinska Walk & Taste, a delightful collaboration between Tourist Board of Malinska-Dubašnica, the Interpretation Center of Maritime Heritage DUBoak, the Kvarner Wine Association, and several esteemed local eateries.

Running from May 18 to June 1, 2024, this epicurean adventure promises to tantalize your taste buds with traditional delicacies and seasonal delights sourced from the lands and pristine seas of Malinska and Dubašnica, nestled in the northern reaches of the island of Krk.

Picture yourself strolling through this picturesque region, enveloped by verdant fields and the salty sea breeze, as you indulge in a culinary odyssey like no other. The itinerary is a feast for the senses, featuring a lineup of gastronomic treats: from succulent lamb and earthy asparagus to creamy cheeses, luscious fruits, and vibrant vegetables. Complementing these culinary treasures are the exquisite wines, crafted from indigenous grape varieties that flourish in the sun-drenched vineyards of Kvarner.

On three select Saturdays, guests will be treated to a curated experience that includes a delightful goodie bag, three delectable tastings, knowledgeable guides to illuminate the region's maritime heritage, admission to the Interpretation Center of Maritime Heritage - DUBoak, convenient train transportation, and a voucher for purchasing wines from the esteemed Kvarner Wine Association at special promotional prices.

As the sun sets, the festivities continue with enchanting wine tastings featuring a selection of Kvarner's finest vintages, expertly paired with gastronomic creations by masterchef Časlav Matijević. Accompanied by a melodic backdrop provided by talented musicians, including the mesmerizing sounds of Iman Acoustic Trio on May 25 and CoffeeShop Acoustic on June 1, 2024, these evenings promise to be nothing short of magical.

Prepare to be enchanted by the gastronomic wonders of the island of Krk as you explore the culinary offerings of its renowned eateries. At Bistro Bukarica, savor the rustic charm of homemade sheep's cheese, a local specialty lovingly crafted amidst the island's pastures. Indulge in the flavors of the sea with brodetto of octopus and polenta, or delight in the savory goodness of homemade sausages in wine with cheese and zucchini meatballs, culminating in the refreshing zest of a lemon crostata, reminding us of agrumes of the Adriatic islands.

Rova Bistro & Beach Bar invites you to experience the island's culinary heritage with their signature dish of šurlice with shrimp, showcasing the marriage of Krk's famed pasta with the bounties of its coastal waters. Scampi and squids show this maritime abudance.




Meanwhile, Bistro Vala tempts with a tantalizing array of springtime delights, featuring Mediterranean herbs, Krk prosciutto, succulent lamb, and curd, and scampi in a variety of mouthwatering dishes: šurlice in pancetta and curd sauce, veal steaks in sage and prosciutto sauce, risotto or šurlica with shrimp and asparagus, lamb shank with a side dish , and cheesecake with sheep's curd.


At Bistro Toni, embark on a culinary voyage with a selection of artisanal cheeses, paired with the rich flavors of tomatoes, basil, and olives in bruschetta. Dive into a bowl of tomato cream soup with curd, basil and toast, followed by the robust flavors of Krk šurlice with shrimp and lamb goulash. The traditional buzara made with shellfish and baked octopus offers a tantalizing taste of the sea.

Tavern Nino celebrates the culinary heritage of Krk with a showcase of sheep's curd, featuring an array of dishes including šurlice in curd sauce with asparagus and broad beans, and delectable balls of curd and honey from sage, ensuring an unforgettable dining experience.

Vila Rova restaurant beckons with "The Bridge" tasting menu, a culinary journey through the flavors of the island, while Primorska konoba invites with baked curd with Adriatic shrimp and figs in Sansigot with homemade cottage cheese, perfectly paired with this rare Kvarner wine.

Finally, at Mulino restaurant, indulge in a symphony of flavors with dishes featuring the star ingredients of the season: asparagus and lamb. From creamy asparagus soup to hearty lamb stew, each dish is a testament to the culinary prowess of the island's chefs.
