At the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, a gala ceremony was held for the second edition of the Gault & Millau Croatia gastronomic guide in 2019, featuring 150 best rated Croatian restaurants, 70 POP stores, 113 top quality wines and top 25 leading hotels from all over Croatia. As part of this important evening for the Croatian gastro scene, the prestigious annual Gault & Millau trophies, a kind of "culinary Oscar", were awarded and Gault & Millau Chef was declared. It was the largest gathering of Croatian chefs, and everyone was eagerly awaiting a guide to see the number of winning streams, that is, the G & M Chef Caps. The key to entering this prestigious guide is very simple, and that's just quality. The bike that runs Gault & Millau's editorial is "Luxury is in quality rather than in price".

"Gault & Millau, one of the two most prestigious world gastronomic guides, has the only issue for Croatia. The guide is bilingual in Croatian and English and is intended for domestic fine food lovers and foreign guests. It is recognizable by its yellow colour and appearance that is indivisible in all the countries in which it emerges. Professional and anonymous G & M inspectors worldwide work on the same rating methodology and according to the same criteria. Each restaurant can get from one to five chef caps, which is also the case in Croatia. We have visited all of our regions in search of new talents on the gastronomic scene, "says Ingrid Badurina Danielsson, director of Gault & Millau Croatia.

The Culinary Oscar Night was held at the Emerald Hall of the Esplanade Zagreb Hotel, and the four-gala dinner was prepared by the chef of Esplanade Zagreb Hotel Ana Grgić, who won the Gault & Millau Croatia 2018 World Cup and Chef Igor Jagodić, from the Ljubljana restaurant Strelec Chef of the first Gault & Millau Slovenia guide 2019.
